LA County Fairgrounds Gone To The Dogs During
the weekend of June 24-26, the dogs of Southern California took over
the Fairplex in Pomona, CA as America’s Family Pet Expo (AFPE)
came to town. Presented by the World Wide Pet Industry Association (WWPIA), which is committed to promoting responsible pet care and ownership, AFPE was filled with events, a pet adoption fair, demonstrations and other educational programs, not to leave out “Extreme Doggie Makeover” and “Fashion Show of Adoptable Darlings,” both covered by Coco in Coco’s Corner. For the active pooch, there were Splash Dog events, a dog agility demonstration and Rockets K-9 Comets, all reported on by Buzz in his Sports Dog column. And, there were loads and loads of exhibitions and booths featuring breeds and breeds of dogs and rescue organizations; representing big “dogs” like Nestle Purina, Canidae and Precise Pet Products, and not so big “dogs” like Newman’s Own Organics and Consolidated Pet Foods; and offering products ranging from canine apparel and fashion (again, see Coco’s Corner) to doggy dental care. All-in-all, AFPE was sure worth barking about – and there’ll be another one coming up November 18-20 outside of Detroit, MI at the Novi Expo Center! SCOOPS, News Hound |
